A judge issued a warrant for the arrest of an Oromocto man Monday after he didn’t appear in court to answer to allegations of violence against a woman and threatening her to keep quiet about it.

Mackenzie Alexander Bishop, 32, was scheduled to appear in Fredericton provincial court Monday to answer to charges alleging he assaulted Caroline Craven and assaulted her by choking her April 11 in Oromocto; that he assaulted her again June 7 in Oromocto; that he uttered threats to her to cause her death and/or bodily harm June 17 in Fredericton; and that he attempted to obstruct the course of justice by trying to dissuade Crave from giving evidence against him by threatening her in Oromocto between July 20 and 24.
