As every month, I offer you this little ritual, my Flaneuse's guide, a PDF ebook exploring one arrondissement per month through its must-see spots as well as its hidden gems. This month I'm taking you to intellectual Paris, and one of the most photogenic in my opinion: the 6th arrondissement, the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
The 6th arrondissement is the undisputed intellectual and artistic soul of the Left Bank. It is a neighborhood where history isn’t tucked away in a museum; it is etched into the zinc bars, the scent of wood-fired ovens, and the iron balconies overflowing with seasonal blooms.
For the past month, my camera and I have been drifting through these iconic streets, tracking the early morning light on limestone facades and hunting down the secret sanctuaries that the tour buses completely miss. Today, I am thrilled to present my latest labor of love, freshly delivered to my paid community: “A Flaneuse’s Guide to the 6th Arrondissement”
This isn’t a recycled list of tourist traps. It is an intimate, phone-friendly PDF handbook designed to take you by the hand and show you the neighborhood exactly as I see it through my lens.

We begin by uncovering the quiet spaces where the true poetry of the neighborhood resides. In this section, the guide will take you to Place Furstenberg, widely considered the most romantic, hidden square in Paris. We will also step onto the uneven cobblestones of a pedestrian passage from 1776, and unlock a few completely hidden, tree-shaded private courtyard gardens that offer a hushed sanctuary from the city heat.
Saint-Germain is a theatrical stage for the culinary arts, and we will navigate both the legendary landmarks and the beloved neighborhood joints. I’ll share my thoughts on how to best savor institutions like Café de Flore, but the real joy lies in the detours: a spectacular courtyard bordered by climbing ivy and white hydrangeas at Ralph’s Restaurant, and cozy, unpretentious neighborhood bistros where the warm hospitality makes you feel like a regular from your very first step.
Because a true flânerie requires delicious pauses, I have curated my absolute favorite addresses for sweet indulgences and market provisions. You’ll find the story behind Le Pont Traversé, a gorgeous specialty coffee shop beautifully housed in a deep-blue, vintage 1900s butcher shop, and a cozy tea room tucked inside the wood-paneled walls of a former historic bookstore (Maison Fleuret).
To truly see Paris is to appreciate the makers who keep traditional French craftsmanship alive. We will wander into the whimsical world of Marin Montagut, a boutique that feels like an artist’s personal cabinet of curiosities, and discover a workshop that has single-handedly revived the 18th-century art of hand-blocked domino paper (Antoinette Poisson). The guide will also take you down my absolute favorite photogenic streets, like the stark, medieval shadows of Rue de l’Échaudé, and introduce you to independent English-language bookshops, traditional papeteries, and curated design spaces.
