HAPPY INSURRECTION DAY!

I hope that this note finds you all well during what feels like the calm before a massive cultural and political storm set to arrive in full force by the end of this year.

Before saying much more about that, I want to remind myself and anyone else reading these words that we are not to be afraid, we’re not to be anxious, and we’re not to give in to anger, no matter how much the craziness of this time may provoke us in any or all of those directions. We should instead calmly count our blessings each day, thank God for them, then go about the business of doing what He has given us the ability and opportunity to do while not worrying about the things that are out of our control. Put another way, as the world spirals further into madness, we don’t want to join the party. Instead we should aim to offer an alternative by way of example - an alternative that encourages each of us to do what we ought while trusting God to handle the rest, believing that He really will guide us well if we sincerely seek after Him as the one and only Author, Definer, and Sustainer of true freedom and liberty.

As the dying systems around us desperately try to prop themselves up just a little while longer by acting out in ways that are increasingly obvious in their insanity, we need to stay calm, cool, collected, and - most of all - confident that true freedom and liberty will prevail, and not just off in some yonder celestial future place, but right here on God’s green earth. That’s the simple yet supernaturally empowering truth we need to hold high as anti-truth zealots of all political stripes and anti-freedom systems beloved on both the Right and the Left do everything they can to deny and trample the ultimately undeniable and unstoppable truth that Jesus is King, and that no attempt at freedom or liberty can last while rejecting Him as such.
