What Happened In July?

One of my websites was affected by a Google algorithm update in late 2023. Traffic tanked, and my site completely disappeared from SERPs.

This site is a side project of mine. I wasn't using any monetization. I always published quality articles. I used zero AI. I followed EEAT. It performs well on PageSpeed. I couldn't figure out what happened.

I tried everything I could to fix it. Updated old posts, removed low-quality posts, improved performance, etc. Nothing worked.

I had a feeling that this was Google's fault. It's well known that Google flags websites by mistake during algorithm updates. Unfortunately, I couldn't do anything about it.

I was ready to give up on the site. But then, I realized why I started this website: to share my passion! So I decided to continue publishing new articles and updating old posts.

I kept publishing content consistently, and it finally paid off!

In June 2025, Google rolled out another algorithm update, and with it, my site shot back to the top of the search results.

It seems Google has finally fixed their mistake. My site once again ranks for (almost) all of the keywords it had ranked for before. Traffic is growing daily!

The lesson here is that AI hype is dying. Google is heavily curating search results and has been removing tons of sites that produce AI-generated content.

I kept updating my site consistently. Even though it was tempting, I never used AI-generated content to ramp up my content production. I always focused on writing content for humans with real emotions.

And it finally paid off!

Be consistent. Don’t let hype and trends steer you off your path!
