Whenever I say I’m a freelancer, I always get asked about how I do it.

Followed by a request to teach them.

And I usually tell them to “try freelancing part-time”

Part-time freelancing is actually a great way to approach any field in the freelancing industry.

It not only allows you to test your limits but also reduces the risks of trying it out.

When you try freelancing on the side, whether while working a 9-to-5 job or while studying at college, it will help you test yourself to see if you’re really cut out for the “freelancing life”.

It will test your patience, dedication, and your willingness to step out of your comfort zone.

To see if you’re capable of working harder.

To see if you’re willing to trade Friday nights and weekends hanging out with friends to work from home.

To see if you can come tired from your 9-to-5 job, wait till your family goes to sleep, and pound away at the keyboard at night to earn a few extra bucks.

Freelancing is not always like that. But it’s a good way to test if you’re capable of working beyond the usual limits.

That’s a characteristic not many people have. That’s why most people who start freelancing, give up after a month or two.

So, if you’re thinking about freelancing, try it part-time!

See you next time,

-Roshan
