Summer bingo

I don’t have any big plans or special trips this summer, so I made a bingo board instead!

Here’s the thing about a bingo board: it’s really just a list wearing a fun costume. It won’t feel like a to-do list (though I do love a list), it’ll feel like a joyful game.

I‘ve got this strange, secondhand nostalgia for summer camp (even though I never actually went to sleepaway camp, but definitely watched Camp Nowhere repeatedly in my youth). So I filled my board with my version of fun “summer camp” activities, things like:

  • send mail

  • swim

  • go for ice cream

  • read outside

  • see a documentary film

The bingo board is a great visual cue on your fridge to remind you that summer is not over and there is still time for possibility.

Feeling overwhelmed with all the things you could do but likely won’t? The bingo board can help with that. Move horizontally, vertically, diagonally, or even string together a handful of squares to make up a pretty spectacular itinerary for the day. You could even try to end the season having “filled the grid.” There’s no one way to play

So that’s my project this summer: sticker these squares.

If you make your own board, I’d love to hear what’s on it!
