He Wore a Crown and Called It a Joke

The man who wants to be a king, who I once promised I wouldn’t name again, called the protests a joke.

He also said he is not a fascist.

As if anyone who is would ever say that.

Fascism is not something a person admits.

We have enough history to know that.

It is ugly and violent.

It destroys everything it touches.

No one stands in front of a nation and says, “Yes, I’m a fascist, let’s make it official.”

They deny and laugh.

They turn it into a joke.

And when you react, they say you misunderstood.

Then you are told you are too emotional, too sensitive, and that was never meant that way.

There is a word for that:

Manipulation.

You are listening to the language of abuse.

And when it comes from a man in power, it becomes a nation being pushed into accepting what should never be accepted.

People who have the right to name what they see and the responsibility to do it.

Because avoiding the word changes nothing.

It only pushes the moment closer.

You are already feeling it.

That is why you are in the streets today.

Nobody goes to a protest for comfort.

You go because something in you would not let you stay home.

You don’t accept this as normal and understand what is happening.

This is about power.

About a man who places himself above the people, then laughs when you notice.

About turning everything into performance so nothing can be held accountable.

About pushing the line, again and again, to see how far it can go.

This is how every tragedy begins.

Tragedies don’t come with a declaration.

They come with ridicule.

With a crown worn “as a joke.”

You are not wrong to take this seriously.

You are early.

And history has shown what happens to those who ignore moments like this.

In my side of the world, I recognize this.

The language, the behavior.

The pattern.

And I know where it leads.

That is why what you are doing is important today.

Coming together reminds you that you are not alone.

That you are many.

That you still have power.

People who refuse to be reduced.

People who refuse to be spoken down to.

To accept what they know is wrong.

You are not a joke.

You are the line.

And from a country that learned this through pain, I remind you:

This is where history turns.

And you are standing inside it.
