I think a lot of folks felt betrayed by all the Dems, even though only 7 Dems and 1 independent decided they couldn’t keep winning!!! I was one of those who felt betrayed for sure, but I have had time to think and see more than just the betrayal.

People that are against what this regime has been doing want more than just to get Trump and his sycophants out. I believe that most folks want a better government overall. This means getting entrenched corporate Dems and Republicans OUT. Not just the “red hats”. This is a chance to try something new with our government.

The first Red Scare started at the start of the Gilded Age after WW1. The Second Red Scare was after WW2 with McCarthyism fueling that fire. The Cold War that started in the age of McCarthyism has never really left the minds of most Americans.

As a child of the 70s and 80s I remember still being scared we were going to get wiped out by nuclear war. We are now in the year 2025 and the optics have changed but the fear of communism has been a political taking point since the 1920s. Now socialism is a dirty word, which by the way is not communism.

Bringing up the communist scares over the past 100 years is to highlight that some really good politicians over the years were disregarded even treated like criminals because their views leaned towards socialism. The American psyche was so sure these politicians would “make us communist” like Russia or China. I think, however, many voters actually liked what these politicians were saying but were scared away from putting them in office. Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential run is another example of people being scared of socialist agendas.

Capitalism has been a lie for longer than Regan’s trickle down economic ideas. Capitalism developed out of feudalism and mercantilism, not some “for the people” systems at all. As of today most of us know that the rich don’t help anyone else, you don’t become a billionaire by helping people. According to the WARNtracker.com: 7.2 million employees laid off from Amazon, Google, Meta, Microsoft & 36,818 other companies from 1988 to 2025. Bezos’ estimated net worth is $37,733,268,134.63 as of 7:59 pm November 13, 2025 EST, that’s only one example. The rich are making money hand over fist, including a large number of elected officials and they are making it for themselves not us.

Fast forward to Zohran Mamdani in NY and Katie Wilson in Seattle, I think enough of us are starting to wake up to the political realities of today. This isn’t just about what Trump’s 2 presidencies have done but the festering boil that is our current government overall.

I think enough of us don’t really care what color you wear, blue or red. If you are going to treat the common folk as nothing but resources to use and discard we are done listening to your rhetoric! We need a different view of what true governing is and what good can be done by the right people.

Get involved in your local caucuses and primaries. Get out and talk to folks about what they care about and help them learn what the new generation of “politicians” are doing to address those things. Voting alone won’t be enough but it still matters.
