I think we missed something yesterday. I, among many others, stepped up to speak out against a new forever war. I said it in an interview with our local news, “Nobody asked for this and nobody wants this!” Especially over oil…again!
Gift, Grift, Grift or is it?
Imagine the next election cycle in 2028, oh my, we are still at war! It could help or hurt, but it could also provide an excuse to mess with the elections. I am certainly not trying to future forecast or doom predict, just looking at history. Many regimes over the years have used war itself or some imagined terrorist threat to justify control of a government, who says this one won’t?

There’s a few folks trying to say “Well, Maduro is a bad guy, so this isn’t all bad” The fact that he is or isn’t an asshole isn’t the point. It’s none of our business, and in the regimes own words…

Using this to “threaten” anyone and everyone-“This extremely successful operation should serve as warning to anyone who would threaten American sovereignty or endanger American lives.”-D.J. Trump
Again, intimidation like language this time from Hegseth-“As the president said, our adversaries remain on notice. America can project our will anywhere, anytime. The coordination, the stealth, the lethality, the precision, the very long arm of American justice all on full display in the middle of the night. Nicolás Maduro had his chance, just like Iran had their chance, until they didn't and until he didn't. He effed around and he found out.”- Pete Hegseth
Don’t forget the oil, “As everyone knows, the oil business in Venezuela has been a bust, a total bust, for a long period of time. They were pumping almost nothing by comparison to what they could have been pumping and what could've taken place. We're going to have our very large United States oil companies, the biggest anywhere in the world, go in, spend billions of dollars, fix the badly broken infrastructure, the oil infrastructure, and start making money for the country.”-D.J. Trump
Sounds a lot like every other regime change story we have used in the past and then some. Let us not forget every “regime change” done with military might has failed. From Vietnam to Afghanistan, we did not succeed in our objectives.

With all of that, within less than 24 hours many American citizens took to the streets all over the country to denounce this regimes actions. Read that again less than 24 hours. People we can do this, we can win! If Sunday, the 4th of January, 2026 tells us anything it’s we can mobilize a response fast! It was actually well organized and responsive!. AGAIN, WE THE PEOPLE, CAN DO THIS.
