I hope you are having or have had a wonderful summer. Personally, I didn’t go on vacation because several exhibitions and projects kept me in Paris. One of them is particularly new to me, and I’m thrilled to share it with you today: my first online worshop session with Creative Voyage.
It’s true that writing and sharing my inspirations or creative processes naturally lend themselves to this kind of platform and sharing in a more active way. Over the past few months, I’ve been working with Mario Depicolzuane and Creative Voyage on Detour, a new online workshop around creative practice, curiosity, constraints and finding your own way of working.
A few weeks ago, while Mario was visiting me in Paris, we decided to sit down in my studio and record a conversation. We ended up talking for more than an hour about many of the things that have shaped my work over the years, so I’m very happy to finally share it.
One idea that comes up throughout the conversation is that the work rarely ends exactly where you expect it to. You try something, make mistakes, adapt, and keep going. For me, this has always been a big part of the creative process.

Many of the ideas we touch on in the conversation are also at the heart of Detour, the Creative Voyage workshop I’ll be leading with Mario this September.
Across four live online sessions, we’ll look more closely at creative practice, how we respond to constraints, how we develop our own ways of seeing and working, and how stepping outside our usual habits can open up something new.
There will be practical exercises, assignments, conversations and opportunities to share your own work and receive direct feedback.
I’m especially looking forward to meeting people from different creative backgrounds, from artists, illustrators and photographers to designers, creative directors, marketers and brand people, and seeing what happens when we bring all of those perspectives into the same space.
