Here I am, 16 pounds lighter than on Aug 2, when I unexpectedly was taken to the ER with septic colitis. Thank God for our excellent healthcare system, here in the mountains of northeast Tennessee, where Dolly Parton grew up--we’re about 100 miles from her hometown. Within a few days I was out of sepsis and ready to go home, and am still here recuperating.
It is so slow--I get up in the morning, have breakfast, go back to bed--utterly drained and weak. I have not felt hungry since 8/2, and just eat by the clock. My sweetheart takes good care of me. I am getting a lot of reading done; finished Edith Wharton’s delicate, tragic “House of Mirth” last night. What a writer she is. Rod Dreher visited a couple of weeks ago and gave me Carlos Eire’s “Reformations,” and I’m going to sit on the deck and give that a try now.
Some of you have been praying for me; THANK YOU!!!
