David Dault joined me for one of those conversations where I forgot I was supposed to be doing a podcast.
We started with his journey from atheism to Catholicism, but before long we were talking about Scripture, institutions, and the ways religion can deepen our humanity or, at its worst, become an accessory to violence.
What I liked about David is that he isn’t selling certainty. He’s interested in moral seriousness, responsibility, and standing with vulnerable people. Whether you think of yourself as religious or not, I think this conversation asks some questions that are worth sitting with for a while.
