I consider the months from May to September to be Thunderstorm Season. Which means that any one of us are qualified to be weather forecasters:

“Might just rain at your house…might just rain at my house. 50-50 either way!”

And it’s during this period that the rain can shut off like a spigot. Which happened for the first half of the summer, putting the NC Piedmont in a significant drought.

The rains have been back for the last few weeks, which has stimulated lots of mushrooms to pop up. But things could still dry up. That’s the nature of this season.

Either way, you could dodge the heat on Saturday, August 29 in Durham and learn to ID nine of the most edible and delicious mushrooms that come up in spring, summer, fall and winter around here.

And since summer and fall are the high season for mushrooms, I’ll share a link to how I made a shit-ton of money selling some of the wild mushrooms I find to local chefs:
Make Up to $200/hour selling wild ebible mushrooms!
