The ArtFrames have – beside their display, obviously – a pretty minimalistic interface to the user and observers: Only one flush-mounted momentary switch with an LED ring to signal that the device is currently awake.
The 31.2" ArtFrame joins the portfolio
Today, a new frame joins FrameLabs’ device portfolio of e-paper based picture frames: a version of the ArtFrame featuring a huge 31.2" e-paper panel. The staggering screen estate is almost five times larger than the previously largest ArtFrame.
Show the currently playing song on the wall
The wireless ArtFrame epaper devices have supported fetching images via WiFi ever since their release. With firmware version 1.4 and above, they allow for dynamic refresh intervals to be set by the remote host when operating in WiFi mode.
Colored epaper displays to show digital artwork
Utilizing epaper panels to display artwork is still a niche usage of the technology. Grayscale is great for a lot of subjects and even a commonplace enhancement filter in artistic images and photos, but being able to display colors would certainly be a nice extension of the possibilities.
Release of the ArtFrame 13.3"
Today marks the release of the ArtFrame with the largest e-paper panel to date. The 13.3" digital picture frame joins the 6" and 9.7" version, has almost twice the area of the 9.
