A year has passed since my last update! Thank you to everyone who has been cataloguing issues on Github. I have taken the time to go through them all and have fixed up all of the rules for fetching Twitch, Twitter, TikTok and YouTube. I have not needed to update the RSS, Atom, JSON Feed, Twtxt or Tiddlywiki rules. Open formats sure are amazing, are they not?

Had no intentions of releasing anything at the moment, until Robin Sloan showed up in issue #220 and started gearing up for a journey into the dark.

Fraidycat 1.1.8 – The Cat Returns
Bit of a rocky two weeks - working through bugs and the Google store approval process. The cat is back - extra requests are fixed now and an additional sync bugfix is coming soon thanks to andrew-wja on Github!
Tumbling, The Future
Thanks to suggestions by sogen on Github, Tumblr support has been improved in Fraidycat. Futureland users and journals can also now be followed! Also have had recent fixes to Twitch and TikTok.

Glitch in the Plan
I have halted everything to work on a collaboration with @glitchyowl - a project that will be adjacent to Fraidycat - but which has caused me to postpone Fraidycat 2 temporarily. I will continue to fix problems that arise, of course.
Unexpected, Useless, and Urgent
An essay passed on by h0p3 covers the differences between online communication and tries to extract what is wonderful about RSS. This seems to vindicate Fraidycat’s strategy in distancing itself from the inbox mentality.
Fraidycat 1.1.7 — SNIFFPPL.TXT
A new Fraidycat has gone out - dropping the new Quick Following feature, as well as support for plain text twtxt feeds. However, some issues have already arisen on Github, so expect another Fraidycat to go out in the coming days as 1.2.
Feedspeeders
Since Fraidycat appeared - about a year ago - a few other riffs on its function have been bubbling up. This is great! Fraidycat is just a small glimpse of what the future will hold for personal Web tools.
Quick Following
If all goes well, this next feature should be out later today. If you use Fraidycat as an extension, the browser icon will change to a little cat ‘portrait’ button if you are on a page which can be followed.
Electronic Drawers, That’s All
Oh and where did the tabs go? There have been some issues among users with lots of tags - the tabs were filling up the screen. So now they’ve been tucked away into a dropdown grid.

Fraidycat 1.1.6 — Important Firefox Sync Fix
We have a very special fix provided by Eduardo Grajeda on Github, to repair problems with Firefox Sync. This release also includes a fix to prevent duplicates from appearing in your list.
Steam and Reddit Things
Thank you manmademagic for the man-made magic to get Steam game announcements into Fraidycat. And to anabh4569 for discovering that Reddit RSS feeds were not working if you used the direct web address.
