Everything that could go wrong, did.
By eight-thirty, we discovered some of the fittings for the wall units were the wrong size, which became my problem despite the fact I hadn’t ordered them. Less than an hour later, Rodney opened one of the bundles of skirting we’d been waiting two weeks for and discovered they’d sent the wrong material. Then, while I was trying to work out whether we could salvage enough of it to avoid losing another day, my very expensive diamond saw made a noise no very expensive diamond saw should ever make.
There was a sharp metallic crack, something flew past my face, and the blade screamed itself to a stop.
