

DUNCANVILLE, Texas - Duncanville Police made use of witness interviews and modern technology to apprehend a road rage shooting suspect this week.
The victim required emergency surgery after the bullet became lodged in her throat.

What we know:
On Aug 18, Duncanville Police and members of the Duncanville SWAT team arrested 58-year-old Reo Bowman Jr. in connection to a July 28 road rage shooting.
The shooting happened in the 600 block of East Interstate 20, where the suspect fired one round at the victim's vehicle before fleeing the area.

Two people, Jayden Shastid and her boyfriend, were in the vehicle Bowman Jr. allegedly shot at, and Shastid was shot in the face. Shastid's boyfriend, who was in the passenger seat, was uninjured.
Shastid was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and was later released.

Duncanville Police detectives utilized witness interviews, evidence collection and Flock cameras to help identify Bowman Jr.
Bowman Jr. faces two charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony.

20-year-old Jayden Shastid was the victim in the July road rage shooting. She was struck in the face, and now has scars on her chin and neck from the incident.

Shastid tells FOX 4's Peyton Yager her car's emergency brake system caused her to brake check Bowman Jr. behind her, and says she was unable to get away from Bowman Jr. before he allegedly shot into her car.
"I finally slowed down, and I was trying to tell him it was my emergency brake system. But he was just smiling in my face and everything. And he shot me right then and there.

Shastid says the bullet was lodged in her throat, and she had to undergo surgery to get it out.
"I really didn't think he was going to get caught."
Duncanville Police released a statement following Bowman Jr.'s arrest, saying, "Road rage incidents and other acts of violence on our roadways place innocent motorists and members of our community at significant risk. Those who engage in these senseless acts of violence in Duncanville will be held accountable."

Bowman Jr. is currently booked in the Dallas County Jail.
