The Parts You Didn't See | Establishing My Career

My career path has never been linear, but has evolved and changed shape over the years.
In my mid-to-late teens, I held various jobs every summer, including being a counselor for 3 years, a sales associate at a retail store, California Kids, and a receptionist (I was taught to always smile when answering the phone, as the person on the other end could sense my energy). During college, I worked part-time at Chuckie’s, a shoe store. After getting married and having my first child, I worked as an assistant at a fashion magazine, Mode. Once I became pregnant with my first child, I became a stay-at-home mom, but took classes in areas that interested me whenever I had the opportunity, like handbag design, journalism, and ballroom dancing. I also acquired my real estate license and bartending license! It wasn’t until I was in my mid-30s and my children were in school full-time that I truly established my career. It was definitely a journey to get there.
