OMB is Waging a Disinformation Campaign

👀 Pay Attention. 👀 This article by Andrew Jack of the Financial Times reveals the twisted ideology behind the new OMB rule issued by Russell Vought. OMB is engaged in a disinformation campaign:

An OMB spokesman said: “Federal grants were already politicised to promote a far-left agenda. Funding went to projects like drag shows to promote diversity in Ecuador and transgender experiments on mice. That ends now. With this new rule, the Trump administration will bring transparency to the grantmaking process and ensure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely.”

OMB is claiming federal grants funded "drag shows in Ecuador" and "transgender experiments on mice." This is disinformation. Full Stop.

There was no drag show grant. That is a deliberate mischaracterization of a routine State Department cultural diplomacy grant, fabricated by Senator Rand Paul's office, laundered through Heritage Foundation policy documents, and now repeated by OMB as though it were fact.

The "transgender mice" claim is an equally dishonest description of standard biomedical research on sex hormones — methodology used for a century to understand why diseases affect men and women differently. Calling it "transgender experiments" is a cynical rebranding designed to trigger outrage, not inform policy.

Both false claims appear in the new proposed OMB rule's own preamble. A regulatory document that relies on fabricated talking points as its primary justification for rewriting $1.1 trillion in federal grant rules should be recognized for what it is: disinformation in service of a political agenda.
