Julian Cain is the fifteen-year-old son of Prosper Cain, Special Keeper of Precious Metals at the South Kensington Museum. When Olive Wellwood comes to see Prosper, Julian shows her son Tom the museum’s treasures. He is knowledgeable about his father’s job and the museum, something of a showoff. He spies on Philip Warren, threatens to hand him over to the police, and takes him to his father.
