In travel, as in life, reality often fails to live up to expectations.
Not so for the out-of-time English village of Chipping Campden!
On day nine of our walking tour of the Cotwolds region, we took a rest day here. I didn’t know much about this village before we arrived, other than it served as the starting (or ending) point of the 102 mile Cotswold Way trail that connects it to the famous city of Bath in southwest England.
I headed out to explore in a drizzling rain under a gray sky. Where weather like this makes some places depressing, it gave Chipping Campden a romantic melancholy air.
