Visited family in Indianapolis this past weekend and it was a bit chaotic.

The Alexander where I stayed downtown would be a hotel I could visit again but only now that I have some helpful information in hand.

My room was as expected based on reviews. Clean, well laid out with a few overlooked issues starting with the mini fridge that did not work, kind of loud HVAC and a space at the top of the door you could deliver mail through it was so large.

The hotel could have charged me a bunch of money for a bagel or breakfast but all that was on offer this Sunday morning was rocket fuel strong coffee in the lobby.

Probably the largest shock during the visit to The Alexander was the $45/night parking fee. I will investigate that a bit as there has to be a better deal with the YMCA and hospital parking across the street.

Dinner that night was at BRU Burger Bar (410 Massachusetts Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46204) located downtown. This is a chain based in Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky. Pretty good. Had the lamb burger which suspect only partly lamb based on the taste but it was pretty good.

The Triple Dip which is an appetiser on the menu was a favourite based on those around me.

You might want to pay attention to the events calendar for downtown Indianapolis as parking in a joke around BRU Burger during these activities.

Sunday brunch found me at Root & Bone (4601 N College Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46205). Certainly something different and I enjoyed everything offered from the smokey bacon board and bloody mary to the avocado toast.

Oddly the one thing that stood out as a contradiction was the bacon that appeared on a bunch of plates and that bloody mary I mentioned, it was pretty average.

I feel like I will come back to this subject. Funny enough I did not take any photos.
