Ellen came back to Florida for the final school year of her parenting career and in typical fashion, hijacked the agenda, asking Kelly the question every parent has had at some point - what do you actually do for a pasta-only kid?
Kelly’s answer was fiber first, always. Not because it’s trendy but because without it the gut lining deteriorates, serotonin production drops, and the immune system starts losing the house it lives in. The practical prescription: Benefiber in a glass of Fairlife milk, no taste, no argument, thirty grams of protein checked before the pasta even hits the table. Ellen admitted she’d tried every trick. Kelly didn’t judge.
The other thread running underneath it was food policy. Bob Jones (Chefs Garden) was at an HHS press event in DC the same morning - announcing that the GRAS loophole is closing and that a real definition of ultra-processed food is coming. Ellen’s read: we’ve never had a policy focus on this before, good bad and different, and that matters. She also floated the idea of pairing the Real Food Show chefs with credentialed experts and mentioned she’d already passed that directly to HHS.
