As developers (who are constantly learning and “operating” in the bubble) we are so far ahead of the curve. One of many such examples is that recently a friend told me about dark mode and how it apparently is the latest trend. When we built Colloq some time ago, we implemented dark mode, which back then was pretty much hot off the press and we wanted to try it out. There are many more of such examples. Showed me again how far ahead of the mainstream curve we are. This is likely the reason that often (most of the time??) it can difficult to explain to people, clients, friends what’s going on in our, or particularly in my head in regards to the web. The knowledge gap exists and it can only be bridged with good communication skills.
