A weird effect of AI on Open Source maintainership
I’ve heard so much about open source projects having a problem of getting overwhelmed by PRs that fix bugs that add new features, but add hundreds of lines of code that the maintainer has to read and understand, and basically has to re-write to be comprehensible.

I don’t often fully agree with Cory Doctorow, but his heart is in the right place, and he’s more often right than wrong. He’s working through his thinking on AI, which, as usual, is worker-centered. In his latest Pluralistic newsletter, he has some great quotes that I thought were worth repeating.
