I grew up on a farm in Nordjylland in Denmark, and even though by now I have lived in cities longer than I lived on our farm, it still feels like living in the countryside is my true home. I am just visiting the big smoke. At the moment I am getting out a lot riding my bikes both for pleasure rides and daily commutes - and I love that so much. It’s exercise, it’s fresh air, it’s pure therapy because I don’t really ride super fast nor do I use a bike computer because I don’t care, I ride to have fun and to enjoy it. At some point for sure, I won’t exactly become a farmer but I definitely want to live closer to nature again.
I mention the outdoors because last week saw the first major outdoor music festival in Denmark kick off and I was there with The Minds of 99, Denmark’s biggest band. And even if it was raining a little bit it was just really awesome to look out at 25,000 people on a big field standing under a gorgeous blue hour sky.
Next festival gig with The Minds of 99 is in 2 days and over the next few months I will be at a lot of festivals in Denmark. As much as I do like the outdoors, like any city-dweller, can it be a bit more convenient please, it would be ok if it rained a bit less at the next festival!
Big month! It feels like a really long time ago that I wrote about April. Here is just a few highlights.
Spot is a big festival showcasing upcoming artists and I worked for 4 artists in the largest venue, a gorgeous concert hall:

Just a few highlights from the first festival stop on this tour. It is probably the biggest Danish festival tour ever including expanding the stage and bringing loads of fire!
POV - reversed! One of the festival photographers made the picture below and demonstrates exactly how I made my picture: with my arms and camera seemingly attached to the lead singer, who is standing on the steps on the barricade and I am trying to reach as high as possible!
Working full time as a photographer means carrying a lot of gear, holding and using a camera constantly, and then spending hours on the computer. My neck and my right shoulder and my right index finger ( from so much clicking on both the camera and the mouse) are really feeling it. So I now moving as many functions as possible to the left. I can’t click the shutter on the camera with my left hand as they don’t make lefty cameras - they really should!
Developing pictures in Lightroom is the worst part for my shoulder and index finger, so after a lot of good advice on Todd Owyoung’s awesome Music Photography discord, I ordered the TourBox Elite. It is a bit like a Playstation controller, and you can map any functions and shortcuts to all the dials and buttoms. So instead of constantly clicking sliders and scrolling up and down Lightroom’s control panel, I just use dials and buttons on the TourBox. I have only used it for a week but on the first go I managed to develop a full concert in Lightroom using only the Tourbox with my left hand, only using the mouse for cropping and it was amazing. So far it seems like an awesome tool I should have bought years ago.
