One Year On Our Flat Earth

It is a common saying in globe-land that one year is equivalent to traveling a full circuit around the sun. We know that is a bunch of hogwash. Instead, one year is equivalent to the sun traveling through the tropics and back again above our beautiful flat plane. The sun’s journey can be tracked by taking a picture of the sun at the same time each day for a year, revealing the analemma. While the image above is AI-generated, it fairly represents reality.

This past year has been quite a journey for me. It has been just over a year since I moved to California to settle my parents’ estate. And over the last eight months or so, I have stepped away from writing articles on the Flat Out Hope Substack.

Thank you to all those who have stood by me and have continued to support me through prayer and other means, despite my disappearance. I’m hoping, Lord willing, to pick up where I left off once I head back to the East Coast to be closer to family. We still have a couple loose ends to tie up in California.

All my books are packed up again, so I won’t be getting back to Falling Flat any time soon. I tried searching a few boxes today, but I think they’re too deep in the trailer to locate.

I have learned many valuable lessons over the year that I hope will make me a stronger writer and more faithful follower of Christ.
