Hello to all and a special welcome to new members. We might not be a virtual community in terms of ‘chat’ or ‘zoom’ etc but more and more of us are wandering a similar path and I am honoured to have you with me.
The focus this week switches to the Life Cartography project which is a very optional part of the Stillness Studio. Not all of us will have the time to work on this project and I get that entirely. For some, the regular creative tag drops may well be enough. However, some of us have the time and interest in journaling to take on this project. If you are new I advise you watch this offering first.
We are going to be working with our journals to investigate, celebrate and record beautiful moments from the past and present and anticipate ones from our futures. Before we delve in I want to reference the late Waverly Fitzgerald and her book ‘Slow Time’ published in 2007. Waverly was way ahead of her own time in her understanding of the concept of time and our problematic relationship with it. I met her online in 2013 and we quickly connected our different fields and she wrote for me on time and I wrote for her on seasonal creativity. The world lost Waverley in 2020 and I feel her absence constantly. I was always going to begin this Life Cartography project with reference to some of her work. We had planned to offer this project together. I hope I do her justice…..
