Happy Wednesday everyone!

I hope everyone is having a great week.

Before I talk about my day yesterday, I wanted to share that I recently remembered the show Charmed. I saw it while I was in the hospital and I am watching it now in the hotel room, while I write. I have an urge to find it streaming and watch all of them. Such a great show.

After I left you yesterday, I walked to The Museum of Illusions.

I didn’t realize The Bean would be along my route.

The museum was pretty fun. There were a lot of illusions, which was expected.

I have been using this Smart water bottle all week and I didn’t realize the cap was open. I tilted it while I was going through the museum, and a little bit of water spilled. I just said “oops” to myself and then looked around for a paper towel holder or a bathroom. I was in a hallway that curved and as soon as I moved to the right to find something, a man in one of the museum uniforms, holding cleaner and a rag, literally popped his head around the corner where he was on his knees cleaning up and said, “did you spill something”. I said, “woah, you like popped around the corner with your rag and said, “Did someone say spill?” He started laughing. He cleaned up the water and I thanked him immensely for being so aware. He couldn’t have seen the spill because of where I was in the curve and he was in the next room behind a wall. I don’t know…guess you had to be there.

The same man took some pictures of me…hanging around.

At the gift shop I got something for Max’s desk - three fidget magnet balls.

I got Arlo a color cube as a souvenir.

I ate at a place called Olde Town Pour House. I got a free appetizer, and I bought a margherita flatbread that was too large for me to finish. I got the cheese curds for my free appetizer. They were AMAZING. Again, wish I had someone to share them with. I also got a little tipsy while I was there, since I didn’t have my medicine the night before.

After I ate, I asked Chat GPT to take me to the closest place to me that sold local art. I found a place called Buddy. I looked through some bins of art and one of the first ones that caught my eye was this piece of a girl laying down with her dog in the grass. It immediately reminded me of my childhood and my dog Curly. I didn’t immediately grab it but looked through the rest of the pictures and walked around the store. I went back to the bin and started to go through them again. When I saw the girl and the dog again, I knew I had to have it. I can’t wait to get my space set up at my house. My office, room, space. My own.

I also got some magnets, a pin, and a sticker.

I walked back to the hotel, hoping I would pass a convenience store. I really wanted a cigarette all day yesterday but never bought a pack, and I guess I won’t. I still really want one.

I took a shower. When I was getting out of the shower, Max walked in. I read my book while he finished up with some work. We left for dinner around 5:30. We were going to go to Mr. Beef but I didn’t realize they were closed. I wanted to still go by and see it and see if they were filming the Bear. I might go there for lunch today.

We got a Lyft to VIG Olde Town. I ordered a glass of wine and my husband ordered a 26 dollar shot of bourbon. I was going to make him pay for his shot, but he ended up paying for dinner. Big Daddy. I almost got the chicken parm but got a pasta instead. My husband got a steak sandwich that was delicious. My pasta was good, but I wish that I would have gotten the chicken parm.

We shared the chocolate cake. It was delightful.

I looked up where the closest place to get cigarettes was and there was a place really close by. I told my husband I was going to go in and buy a pack and he said no. The brat almost came out in me, but I knew he was right, and I like it when he is bossy sometimes. I never know when my ODD is going to rear its ugly head or if my sweet submissive nature is going to come out. I am complex. We will see which side comes out when I am walking by any convenience stores today.

We were directed to the fourth floor of the Second City Complex to get to Judy’s Beat Lounge.

I should have done more research before getting these ten-dollar tickets. I think if I lived in Chicago, it would be something I would do regularly for ten dollars, but I didn’t get the Second City experience I wanted. I was imagining an actual lounge, with tables. It was a room with a bunch of chairs.

There were two stand-up comedians, who were really funny, and then a ten minute “long-form” improv routine.

My back started to seize up almost immediately upon sitting down for the show and it hurt through the entire thing. I am glad that it didn’t last long given the venue and seating. Next time I go to Chicago, I will go to a show on the Main Stage.

The rest is a little spicy but I will skip to the end for the non-paid subscribers or for those who do not want to read the spicy stuff.

I went to bed and slept really good.
