Thanks go to R Robert Pollak for putting this ASTOUNDING jam piece together! I was the 3rd artist to work on this, after Robert himself on the far left & Sam Viviano’s Alfred E. Neuman on the right.
Seeing those, I was totally intimidated as to what to do, before having the idea that I went with. I added my cartoon avatar, taking a “selfie”, leaning into the MAD MAGAZINE icon for fun, and had NO Idea so many others would join in the same gag!
Like, seriously. Garfield and Beetle Bailey are ALSO leaning into a toon photo bomb in the scene, along with Tobey from the Buckets, Betty Boop, and more.
Then, just to have my art on the same piece of paper as work from Joe Staton, Patrick McDonnell, and EVERYONE else here. It’s inspiring and deeply humbling at the same time!
I SOOOO need to start collecting some art more at the next one of these events! lol
