The other end of the Younger Dryas seems equally interesting. Why did that 1200-year freeze end almost as fast as it started?
Why only one impact? Why not a series of bombardments from the Perseids meteor shower or similar? Once a year for 10 years is only a second in history.
Thin black line? That line is 8 inches thick! It is found EVERYWHERE on planet Earth. It is so prevalent that geologists use it to find the barrier of the Younger Dryas. It has been estimated that to create this 8 inch layer of carbon everywhere on the Earth that as much as 20% of all plants on the Earth burned at this point. Below that black mat line we see large animals in North America; above that line every animal in North America over 40 kilos dies. The best guess - and the evidence shows this - that a large comet broke up as it went around the sun and the massive fragments of this slammed into the 1 mile thick Laurentide ice sheet that covered Canada down to below the Great Lakes creating at least 5 or more impacts between Saginaw bay and Greenland. These impact into the ice sheet would leave no real impacts into the ground 1 mile below, but the impact threw up millions of tons of meted ice and water at ballistic trajectories into the ionosphere which refroze and were pulled back down to Earth is a fan all across North America. We see evidence of this in the Carolina Bays, the Nebraska Rainwater Basins, and seen from Long Island to Wisconsin. These secondary impact craters are elliptical, meaning that they all point to two locations in the Laurentide Ice Sheet. There is no hypothesis that has so much evidence in support of it. And frankly, all of the mainstream scientists frantically trying to hold on to the status quo have made themselves look ridiculous clinging onto clearly disproven claims. A scientist who has done fantastic work on this is Anthony Zamora, and his Youtube channel has dozens of videos presenting the evidence.
The Clovis Culture are only ONE culture we know of that died at the Younger Dryas boundary. Archaeology has been living with their heads in the sand and refused to seek others, where we KNOW settlements existed at the time... 12,800 years ago... and beyond, human settled on the shorelines of the oceans that were 400 + feet BELOW today... NO ONE is doing archaeology there, under the ocean... where the proof and truth is sitting and waiting to be found. Our human story is mostly not known, yet.
I found a 2 to 3 ft layer of semi hard formation at 99 ft depth. Some lignite came out of the hole I was drilling. I occasionally found peat at 30 ft depths but not in all areas of East Texas. I sometimes wonder about cataclysmic events that happen going through several layers of sandstone sandwiched in between layers of water bearing sands . Scorched Earth drying up the sea beds. Back to back. This stuff is interesting . Glad to hear it in a real voice instead of AI.
