Middleweight is moving fast. Chimaev is out as champ, Pyfer, Imavov and Nickal are on their way in. A loss to Rodrigues would see the division moving on without him. At only 32, he cannot allow that to happen and fall so far behind.

Gregory Rodrigues is a threat to anyone he fights. His hands are as heavy as they come. The open secret is that said power is heavily frontloaded. If Fluffy Hernandez can survive the early onslaught, he can run away with this fight as it goes later.

With that said, Anthony Hernandez has a wide path to victory: drawing shots out of Robocop to dip and counter. If he can force Gregory Rodrigues to work early, as the fight goes on he can ratchet up the pressure and take over.

Of course, the philosophy behind this is simple. Both Miyamoto Musashi and Cus D’Amato have articulated this. The philosophy of fighting never changes.
