In late November 2024, I had a sudden realisation that I needed to close this Fibro Substack and focus more of my energy on my Peacefully Substack instead.
The thought of doing this hadn’t even crossed my mind before and this sudden sense of knowing came as a bit of a shock.
But I know from past experience - the times when I did and didn’t heed a sense of knowing - that it must always be taken seriously.
As I sat with this realisation, I became aware of why this needs to happen. I will share some of those explanations below.
After I published my book, “Fibro, My Ally”, I assumed I would have further insights to share on this subject, but there haven’t been any. I realised this is because my enquiry had reached its conclusion: that my experience of living with fibromyalgia has psychological and spiritual roots - and these are topics I regularly discuss on Peacefully.
Whilst my enquiry into why I got fibromyalgia reached a conclusion, my spiritual enquiry is ongoing. Whereas I have had no further insights on the subject of fibromyalgia, I regularly have about half a dozen articles waiting to be published on Peacefully.
The conclusion I reached at the end of writing “Fibro, My Ally” was that I hadn’t been living my truth. What I have realised in the past few days is that living my truth means writing about the topics that interest me the most - inner peace and self-enquiry - and not writing about my experience of living with chronic illness, especially when there are already plenty of writers doing something similar.
