Gurgen began building an FHE library a few years ago and quickly realized there was an opportunity to build a challenges platform that would increase community engagement with FHE.

Simply put, Fair Math is a challenges platform dedicated to educating and then incentivizing FHE development through uniquely structured competitions.
The flow is as follows: a challenge is published, and the developers are given time to work on the project. Then the winning solution is published in Fair Math’s open-source library.

There are two types of challenges: Black Box challenges require only limited data from the participants, whereas White Box challenges require more data as there is more work done by the Fair Math team to test not only the solution’s accuracy but also it’s performance.
What makes Fair Math unique is that participants can submit unlimited times. This enables is an iterative process by which each of the participants learns from each other and builds on the best solutions.

One big issue is getting FHE developers to become FHE developers. This boils down to education, both technical and ideological to the degree that we need these developers to want a privacy solution.
