Four Recent Outfits

Keeping up with the summer outfits… at this point in the year it’s really just the same few pieces on repeat, but that’s okay with me! All of these are great and will hold their own as the years go by. Here’s what I’ve been wearing…

We took a walk through my old stomping grounds on Saturday, an extremely hot day to spend in a garden—but worth it nonetheless. I used to know every inch of this garden and I was pleased to find that muscle memory was still there! searching out some of my favorite hidden places. More to come here. As we weren’t really “roughing it” with the terrain, I pulled on my trusty espadrilles, which really have become my default summer shoe at this point of the year. And these jean shorts are really good— Lindsay Sword you would love them!

AYR tee | With Nothing Underneath shorts

After the garden walk and a long swim, it was time to get into my comfiest clothes and settle in for an afternoon tidying. I took a note out of Fanny Adams’ book and her recent post and broke up this With Nothing Underneath set, pairing it with my lovely AYR tee. This is the perfect combination of a sweatshirt and heavyweight tee—I generally wear it in colder months but the air conditioning has been quite high lately and I’m still struggling to adjust it. (Not a problem, just an explanation for the long sleeves!) I’ll be repeating this outfit again soon. I’m a bit rumpled because I’m packing for an upcoming getaway and also trying to unpack a few remaining boxes… but that’s okay.

I shared this outfit in Friday’s post, but I’m really loving it—the skirt is described as “Joan Didion in Malibu” and I very much would like to channel that. I hope this is my summer and fall of writing—I have a few projects I’d like to get off the ground and a great outfit can’t hurt!

One of the things I prioritized when figuring out what furniture we were bringing/what we needed to buy was a great patio set. We have a beautiful table and chairs that wouldn’t fit on our balcony, so those are in storage and I finally got to snag a comfy sofa… in fact two modular sets so there’s plenty of seating for everyone. And as you know, it’s the summer of blue and white, so of course this tank and these jean shorts were a natural fit.
