FemInEM Community:
We’re excited to launch FemInEM on Roon!
For those who remember the original iteration of FemInEM, you probably remember the heyday of #MedTwitter. It was a place where you could meet friends and mentors from across the country, never having sat in the same room. You could find yourself engaged in a lengthy debate with “fritters” (friends from twitter), or commiserating with residents thousands of miles away over shared experiences. Real-life friendships were borne out of these interactions, some of which have lasted to today . But, we no longer have #MedTwitter, Facebook groups or many of the other spaces we have virtually gathered in the past
For the past few months, many of us have joined Roon. Roon is a private professional community built for physicians to learn from one another, ask questions, and have meaningful conversations without the noise of traditional social media. Still new, we think Roon will be able to fill this gap
This week we’ve launched a dedicated FemInEM space where our community can continue discussions year-round. Whether you’re looking to discuss challenging cases, share resources, ask career questions, or connect with colleagues who are passionate about advancing gender equity in emergency medicine, this is your place. While our Substack will continue to be our main method of communication, we look forward to engaging with everyone in real time over at Roon.
Warmly,
The FemInEM Team
