I use analytics on this site primarily to see where referral traffic comes from. It's not necessary, but it satisfies my curiosity. One of the most interesting referrals I've received was from Wikipedia.

This site has upwards of 8,000 pages and most of those are part of the music section. Each track I scrobble is counted against artist, album and genre pages. Each artist page consists of a photo, their name, a bio and other general information.

I search for my domain on Wikipedia and found the link in the entry for Year of the Rabbit, an alternative rock/post-hardcore band featuring members of Failure and Shiner. All of which is to say that referrals can be genuinely interesting. These pages grew out of a project that's primarily to satisfy my own curiosity, but you never know what visitors will find interesting or helpful.
