This might have been the buzziest week in fashion tech…. ever! The main thing I keep wondering is how and will they come back from this. They certainly have the money to try after their recent $35.5M celebrity fundraising round.
The online response has been bigger than I and I bet Phoebe and Sophia expected. More and more people keep sharing weird experiences they had with Phia, interactions that didn’t seem right, corners cut, and questions left unanswered.
This piece from Ali Kriegsman on Phia being kicked off ShopMy as a creator and their mysterious $1million in revenue/month on the platform is a must read.
Whether you’re just learning about this or have been aware of the fishiness I would highly recommend using the platforms in fashion tech that pre-date Phia and are building with honesty, integrity, and trust first and foremost. Like Beni, Secondsense, Locker, and SSQRD.
