Welcome to your Sunday ritual.
What an eclipse that was.
Everybody still here? Good. I hope you took a couple of slow days after it, and if you didn’t, take them this week, nobody’s checking except me.
So. we’re officially in between two eclipses now, and this fortnight has a strange sort of holiness to it. The standard line is that you don’t start new things in between two eclipses, and I’ll be honest with you, for once I agree with the standard line completely. These stretches wobble. You put something down, you come back to it a week later, it’s moved.
Which is not me telling you to sit in a corner for two weeks with your hands folded. Ideas are going to come in here, and some of them will be genuinely good, and the good ones are the dangerous ones, why, because a good idea makes you want to CALL SOMEBODY ABOUT IT IMMEDIATELY. Write it down instead. Let it sit until September and see whether it still looks that good with the lights on. And if something truly can’t wait, then it can’t wait, obviously, I’m not going to stand here and tell you to miss your own life.
Anyway. We’ve talked about eclipses a lot lately and honestly I can’t stop myself, there’s more coming, we’ll get to it. Let’s come to the new week now.
Most of this started over the weekend, so Monday isn’t really where it begins. There’s been a can’t be bothered to lift a finger sort of feeling in the air for a few days now, and Monday is where it peaks, because that’s when Mars and Neptune square each other exactly. (offff. I’m sure somebody out there loves this aspect. I’ve never met them)
Mars woke up with a plan.
Mars goes: right. up. we’re doing the whole list today.
Neptune goes: which list?
Mars goes: the list. you know the list.
Neptune goes: mm.
And there goes the afternoon. Not dramatically, nothing announces itself. You sit down for a minute and the minute becomes two hours and afterwards you genuinely cannot say what happened inside them. Mars can’t either. Mars never can, that’s the whole trouble with this square, it takes your energy without ever telling you where it went.
Mercury and Saturn are the only two adults in the sky on Monday.
The two of them are sitting across a table being very correct about it. Even Mercury has tidied itself up for the occasion, papers in order, on time, like someone who’s got an appointment at a government office, or a meeting with the kind of boss who actually reads what you send. So it’s a day for getting your head straight. Planning, discipline, going back over the list. Autumn is nearly here and there’s no harm in starting on it now.
Venus and Jupiter make a sextile the same morning, which is the sky winking at us. Anything you’re doing with somebody else goes better on Monday than it will later in the week.
So. Bad day for doing, good day for planning.
A word about other people this week, because it comes at us from two directions. That Mars-Neptune square is a disappointment aspect, so somebody probably doesn’t come through the way you expected. And that’s before the main event. So keep your expectations low for a few days and get on with your own plans instead.
From midweek Saturn is at the table with the file open. Venus is sitting opposite. Go on then. The value report. What’s it worth, what have you been getting back, and don’t round the numbers up.
Venus in Libra, Saturn in Aries. (They were together back on the 8th of March, so some of what opened up then is what’s being paid for now)
I’ll say it plainly. this week doesn’t look lovely for relationships, or for agreements of any kind. there’s a general air of nobody being able to agree on anything, and Friday morning is the worst of it, Venus and Saturn exactly opposite each other.
It shows up as distance. somebody goes quiet on you. an old conversation comes round again and this time it’s got an edge. or nothing happens at all and you just sit there feeling like you put more in than you get back??
And some of that will be accurate, sorry. Saturn doesn’t make things up.
But don’t decide anything on Friday!! we said it at the top, nothing new in between two eclipses, and ending something IS starting something. the report will read the same in September and you’ll be in much better shape to read it.
So try not to pick the fight, and try not to break anybody’s heart either.
Also it isn’t only about love. money owed. the friend who only turns up when they need something. whatever’s been running one way in your family for about fifteen years. and the arrangement you’ve got with yourself, obviously.
Otherwise, keep to yourself and get on with your own plans this week. that’s what’s actually on offer.
On Saturday the Sun crosses the South Node at the very last degree of Leo, and a few hours later it’s in Virgo. So the Leo part of this eclipse season closes on Saturday, quietly, while you’re doing something else entirely.
And then Sunday the Sun trines Chiron, and honestly, what a nice way to end a week like this one.
Virgo season opening with a Chiron trine on top of it is about as good as it gets for taking care of yourself, so use the weekend for that. Look after your health this week. Get the sleep back in order, get the food back in order, take the walk. If you’ve been meaning to start something, a diet, a detox, a routine, this is a good doorway for it.
And the practical side too, because Virgo likes the practical side. book the appointment you’ve been not booking. when was your last check-up, actually?? go and look. the prescription, the test results sitting in a drawer, the thing you keep saying you’ll sort out when things calm down.
Light food, and much more water than you think you need, why, because there’s an enormous amount of fire in the sky at the moment and water is what balances it. go and sit next to some water if there’s any near you. long baths count.
Monday. Everything at once, and all of it before lunch. Mars square Neptune, Mercury trine Saturn, Venus sextile Jupiter. Plan, don’t launch.
Tuesday. Nothing exact, but you’re still inside Monday’s fog. Don’t read too much into how little you got done.
Wednesday. First Quarter Moon in Scorpio in the evening, and Scorpio does what Scorpio does. Whatever the eclipse stirred up comes back for another look. Sit down with it rather than away from it. hello, you again? what are you reminding me of this time? okay. catch your breath, then off you go.
Thursday. The Moon moves into Sagittarius. Venus and Saturn are already in range though, so this is where the weight starts.
Friday. Venus opposite Saturn. The report. Read it, take notes, decide nothing.
Saturday. The Sun crosses the South Node and then enters Virgo.
Sunday. Sun trine Chiron. The kindest few hours of the whole week. Sleep, food, water, the appointment you’ve been avoiding.
There’s a lunar eclipse in Pisces coming at the end of the month, and between you and me, that’s the one that’s going to shake us. It gets its own letter, I promised you that already and I’m keeping it.
Until then, look after your energy. I mean it, we’re going to need it.
And one more thing. if today was an ordinary day, an unremarkable one, nothing much in it, then know what you’ve got. we talk about the simple life like it’s somewhere below us, somewhere you drop down to when the big things stop working. it isn’t. you don’t come down to the simple thing, you climb up to it. Virgo season starts soon and Virgo has known that all along.
And tell me one ordinary thing from your week. not the big news, the small one. the thing you’d never think to mention. I want to read them, and so does everybody else in that comment section, which is the part of this letter I’m proudest of.
And I read charts, obviously. If you want to know where all this is landing in yours, the readings page is here.
Stay luminous,
Emi
