Hi Friends,
In my last post, I included a mock-up of a cover for my third book, Carbon Secrets.
(I also asked for early readers. Thank you to everyone that responded!)
While I think the mock-up was cool, I don’t think it does the 3 things I need my covers to do.
Most Important, the covers grab your interest. You want to learn more—to click on the thumbnail-sized picture (or turn over the paperback) and read the description.
The covers convey the essence of the Georgia Steele series—Speculative Thrillers laced with Science and Technology.
Less Important, together the covers should Look like a Series.
I’m not sure that cover successfully accomplished any of these.
I’ve brainstormed since then. Before I go back to my cover designer, I thought I’d ask you all for help with these mock-ups.
If you can, please answer the 3 questions below.
Thank you all SO much - I’ll reports back with the results.
Watch for our next book review, out very soon. David Bruns and JR Olson come back to talk about the first book in their new series, Weapons Free.
(No mistaking what this book is about from the cover).
The Chinese Navy has unleashed a game-changing weapon that will tip the balance of power in the Pacific. Amidst this devastating intelligence, Harrison sees an opportunity to execute one of the boldest covert actions in the history of the CIA.
Much of the novel takes place on submarines. David spent 6 years on a submarine and he and JR will give us all the inside scoop. (I literally start to panic imagining being stationed on a sub. Good thing there are braver people than me protecting us.)
Want to be fully prepared?
