Kim: I am deeply saddened by the passing of my dear friend Steve Cropper. I remember in the mid 80s when we toured with Dave Edmonds. It was a great tour with Dave, Dion, and Graham Parker. Steve was the musical director. We sat on that bus together shooting the shit every day! He was a very generous man , even hiring me me for the album that was a tribute to Curtis Mayfield. The world is indebted to Steve Cropper not only as a musician but as a human being. Inventing his own style and sound, writing and producing incredible projects, breaking race barriers... I mean the guy is ALL WORLD and the world will never be the same without him! My deepest condolences to his family and may he rest in eternal peace! The road to heaven is paved with gold for people like Steve.
