This conversation reminds me how often times we end up adhering more to our own beliefs about something than to actually SEE and adjust to what sits within the Scriptural text we claim to cling to.
I'm reminded too, that those who clung to those ancient Old Testament texts rejected the One Who Came As THE Text (and Context!), and instead of bowing to Him, they refused to see what was literally right in front of them.
For us today, how much is clearly -right there- in the Bible, but which we refuse to see or consider because we have decided already that what is there does not fit into our belief system?
