I have a silly dream. I just want my company to be advertised on the NYC subway system at some point. I don't know why, but to me this is my definition of success.
I may have the perfect project for it too in Castria! So I reached out today to find out what it costs to get them on a single subway line.
The response came back that there's a legal monopoly who controls this called Outfront. They don't allow you to target a single line. Their smallest ad buy is the entire subway system about 1,000 of those slots at $50-$60k.
Oof... I'm not quite there yet. It's not that it's an unreasonable price to reach that many people who are the perfect demographic for my app. It's just that I think the price is that high because it's a monopoly, and I wish they would offer single trains to better test the thesis for small businesses like Dr. Z
Oh well, if you do ever see Castria ads on the NYC subway then you'll know that at least I think I've made it! lol
