This dropped on my reading lap at a super opportune time - perfectly explains a recent debate I saw on my friend’s twitter re: the use of the word “normie”, where one of our friends thought it was a slur and he thought it was an even bigger problem to call it a slur, because that would slide right down this slippery slope to hyperstition:
