All about....Me....

Years ago I used to write a blog called Polythene Pram (don’t ask, the name seemed good at the time) where I shared life’s ups and downs as both a mum and an aspiring author. I found the blog quite motivating and from it I wrote my first complete novel - The Blog of Maisy Malone which I self published in 2013.

Fast forward a few years and I’m now an author of 16 books, mainly children’s but I am also writing more for the adult fiction market. I’d like to think that I’m older, wiser and less neurotic now - but sadly I think I’d be kidding myself.

I want this Substack to be about my up-and-down journey as a mid-list author, mum of two, pre-menopausal wreck and angst-fuelled woman. I also hope that I can inspire future writers with some tips, advice or maybe just reassurance that if this disorganised mess of a woman can get published - then there is hope for anyone.

In these posts I plan to talk more about my life, my loves and my disasters. Expect to see a lot of mentions of:

These can be in any particular order. I will leave you with a particularly cute picture Rocky sleeping next to me sleeping. He is very beautiful but he does drive me barmy.
