In the most recent episode of The Long Road to Publishing, Amy Tern talks about how she and her critique group had a “Premise-palooza,” and this brainstorming exercise is how she came up with an incredible premise for a middle grade novel. She ended up writing the novel (it’s called SNEAKS), getting an agent, and landing a book deal. All because of Premise-palooza.

Now… Are you ready for your own Premise-Palooza? I took the exercise Amy told me about in the episode and expanded on it with some of my own ideas.
You can do these brainstorming exercises on your own, or get together a group of writers and challenge each other. By the end of Premise-Palooza, you will have more great story ideas than you know what to do with, and the best ones will be fleshed-out and ready for drafting.
