What if we could choose the future we’d like our kids to live in? What if we could gift them with a Future that doesn’t suck? Let’s find out!
But first, we will have to ask us one last question:
What is The Best Possible Thing To Do Against Dystopia?
Here is a RADICAL THOUGHT: ”Let’s just do the OPPOSITE.”
Think about it. When we try to “fix” something. We usually apply the opposite. If something is “too hot” we make it “cold”. If something is “too dark” we “add light”.
But, what is the opposite of Dystopia? - Utopia, right?
WRONG.
It actually isn’t. Long Story short, Utopia is an invented Word that means something akin to “idealized impossible World”.
Dystopia and Utopia are not “Polar Opposites” as many have been led to believe.
Why? Because Dystopia is a “possible place” which we seem to be barreling towards, while Utopia is an impossible place. Wait. That’s not the Opposite. That’s a Brainfart! Correct.
So what is?
If Dystopia is defined as “The WORST possible World made by humans” then the Opposite of that would be “The BEST possible World made by humans”. It is that simple.
So why don’t we have a Word for that?
Well. Turns out WE DO. It’s called “Eutopia”. It’s greek and I wrote an entire Article about the distinction between Utopia and Eutopia.
So, how can we choose the future we’d like our kids to live in? By choosing to propagate Eutopia instead of unconsciously supporting Dystopia.
