gm ETH SD community,

What a time to be an Etherean! It’s always to pleasure to be building in times of growth; here, the inspiration is palpable.

1. Shapella Upgrade Party was LIT
Wow, Saturday was fun! ETH SD would like to extend a massive thank you to the attendees and sponsors who made it a fun and memorable evening. For this event, we teamed up with EX3 and W1SE, received sponsorship from Opolis, Edge, TBD, Kové, and Alchemy, and enjoyed sounds by Bapic, Remi, and Hooligan.

Here are some pics from the Shapella Upgrade Party!

2. Event Announcement: AI San Diego - Working with LLMs
Our next event is live! Join Chad, Kaggle Grandmaster Ryan Chester, Alex Loftus, and Greg Schwartz to discuss working with LLMs, review how to make effective prompts, and go over LLM APIs. We’ll be at the Edge Wallet HQ on Monday, Apr. 24, from 6:30pm to 8pm.

RSVP on Luma: http://lu.ma/aisd1

3. Consensus ‘23: See You There!
Giddy up, SD, we’re riding to Austin for this year’s Consensus. In addition to checking out the numerous talks and satellite events, we’re looking forward to connecting with the community as always.

Will you be attending as well? Send us a DM and let’s connect. Maybe there’ll be a special ETH SD event that week as well. 😉

1. Twitter and Substack Content Quarrel
Notice the lack of linked tweets in this week’s gm? Well the heads of Twitter and Substack respectively are not playing nice with one another. Here’s a brief summary. First, there were issues with Substack fetching embedded tweets and Substack links being shown on Twitter. Then, Substack announced Notes, a Twitter-like feature for short-form content on user profiles, aside from some other developments. More back-and-forth has ensued sense.

Hopefully a resolution gives way soon, because it’s the users who get the short end of the stick in situations like these.

2. Elon’s New Toy: AI
On Friday, reports began circulating that Elon is planning to launch a rival of ChatGPT. If this new endeavor will run similarly to Twitter, then we’re excited and entertained to say the least.

3. AutoGPT + GPT-5
What if GPT4 took steroids? Well wonder no longer and welcome AutoGPT to the chat; fair warning, it’s alive. Among other differences, some notable features are short and long term memory management, text generation, and continuous internet access.

Check out the repo here: https://github.com/Torantulino/Auto-GPT. Regarding GPT-5. OpenAI’s Sam Altman said that the company is not currently building or training the next GPT model. More time to play around with Auto-GPT.

1. SushiSwap Outlines Refund Plan After $3.3M Hack
After a vulnerability was exploited within the RouteProcessor2 smart contract, totaling a $3.3M loss, the Sushi Swap team has published their recovery process.

Considering the stolen user funds, some are currently within a whitehat contract, and will be returned via a Merkle contract. For the rest of the funds, which were taken by blackhat hackers, affected users will get those back on a case-by-case basis.

2. How is This Allowed: the Potential Return of FTX
In an interesting turn of events, a recent filing from FTX’s legal representation claimed that the exchange had recovered about $7.3 billion in liquid assets.

Subsequently, $FTT token’s price displayed some growth activity, and rumors began to circulate of the forsaken exchange’s reformation.

3. Post Shapella: $198M in ETH (98.4k) Staked to Network to Counter Withdraws
With the long-awaited Shapella upgrade, the $ETH staked for the Ethereum network upgrade is finally ready to be unstaked (withdrawn). Considering the perception that this event could have negative impacts to the market and ecosystem, it’s encouraging to see that a significant amount of $ETH is still being staked.

gm, it’s Shapella season.
