Ethereum Classic

Ethereum Classic is an open, decentralized, and permissionless public blockchain, that aims to fulfill the original promise of Ethereum, as a platform where smart contracts are free from third-party interference. ETC prioritizes trust-minimization, network security, and integrity. All network upgrades are non-contentious with the aim to fix critical issues or to add value with newly proposed features; never to create new tokens, or to bail out flawed smart contracts and their interest groups.

Halving

Anyone else bullish about the $ETC halving happening in less than 14 hours? submitted by /u/TY_M9 [link] [comments]

10 years ago today, ETH forked away from the original chain to undo the DAO hack. The chain that refused is Ethereum Classic.

On July 20, 2016, at block 1,920,000, Ethereum Foundation hard forked to reverse the DAO hack — rewriting the ledger to claw back the ~3.6M ETH drained from the DAO contract. That new, rewritten chain is what everyone now calls Ethereum (ETH). Ethereum (ETH) is a fork of Ethereum Classic (ETC) But not everyone followed. A group of miners, users, and developers kept running the original chain — the…

Is the Ethereum Classic Bottom Finally In?

I did an exhaustive structural assessment of Ethereum Classic (ETC) today using our upgraded terminal metrics over at Crypto Weeklies. As the broader cryptocurrency index grinds through a volatile cycle bottoming phase, ETC has executed a complete purge of its downside risk premium, compressing its raw mathematical risk metrics into our absolute highest conviction long-term spot accumulation…

Google Gemini's Take On ETC

The "High-Value Settlement" Economic Model The most honest answer to how ETC scales without Layer 2 is that it doesn't try to handle cheap, high-volume retail traffic. ETC does not want to host high-frequency gaming, micro-transaction social media apps, or thousands of speculative meme coins. Because its throughput is limited, its long-term scaling strategy is economic, not technical: The…

Ethereum Classic's Olympia Upgrade — June 2026 Development Checkpoint

Olympia Upgrade — June 2026 Development Checkpoint Multi-client stability continued through June 2026 LTS codebases. All four Olympia execution clients are stable, peered, and advertising Olympia as the next hardfork on the wire — with Nethermind joining this month as a fourth independent client. 🟢 Fukuii v0.8.x — Primary. Multi-EVM architecture — dual Ethereum Classic (PoW) and Ethereum (PoS)…

I built a wallet-to-wallet encrypted mail dApp on Ethereum Classic - powered by Proof-of-Work ZEUS & ETC [Video Demo]

I've been building a project called Zeus Mail , a wallet-to-wallet communication application deployed on Ethereum Classic. The idea is simple: Instead of creating accounts, usernames, passwords, or relying on centralized mail servers, users communicate directly between blockchain wallets. Every message: -Is encrypted client-side using AES-256 -Uses SHA-256 key derivation -Is transmitted using ZEUS…

Ethereum Classic future

What are your thoughts on the Ethereum Classic cryptocurrency? Will the Olympia update change the cryptocurrency's valuation, or will the asset continue to decline? submitted by /u/Siellanka [link] [comments]

Ethereum Classic's Olympia Upgrade — May 2026 Development Checkpoint

Olympia Upgrade — May 2026 Development Checkpoint Multi-client stability achieved to May 2026 LTS codebases. All three Olympia execution clients are stable, peered, and advertising Olympia as the next hardfork on the wire. 🟢 Fukuii v0.5.0+ — Multi-EVM architecture implemented. Dual Ethereum Classic (PoW) and Ethereum (PoS) execution from a single client. ETH/68 and ETH/69+ PoW compatibility…

ZEUS Mail — Building Wallet-to-Wallet Encrypted Communication Directly on Ethereum Classic Proof-of-Work Blockchain

Most blockchain “messaging” applications today still rely heavily on centralized infrastructure somewhere in the stack. We wanted to explore what happens when communication itself becomes a native Proof-of-Work blockchain utility. ZEUS Mail is an experimental wallet-to-wallet encrypted communication layer being developed directly on Ethereum Classic, where: • Messages are transmitted between…

Ethereum Classic's Olympia Upgrade — April 2026 Development Checkpoint

Olympia Upgrade — April 2026 Checkpoint The Olympia upgrade is built and entering final testing. Three execution clients now carry full Olympia support: 🟢 Fukuii — New ETC-native execution client built from the ground up 🟠 Core-Geth — Legacy client, maintenance mode 🔵 Besu — Reference client All three implement the core Olympia protocol changes: 🟢 EIP-1559 fee market activation — modern…

What’s the future for ETC?

What do you guys think the future is? Or is there a future? Curious what you guys think, and if this is a good buy or a dying project submitted by /u/LarryTheYoutuber [link] [comments]

I Built a Web3 Ecosystem on ETC Where a Flipbook Comic Puzzle Rewards Bitcoin - Here's the Guide

Hi ETC community 👋 Over the past year I’ve been building a small experimental Web3 ecosystem on Ethereum Classic, focused on something I think ETC uniquely enables: immutable applications + proof-of-work security + user self-custody. Instead of launching another speculative token project, the goal was to explore how ETC can power real user experiences that teach blockchain concepts through…

Binance ETH-ETC pair?

Has Binance removed the ETH-ETC pair from spot trading? I had an ETH/ETC grid bot set up, and about a day ago, I logged into Binance to find it had been closed and the ETH and ETC were back in my spot wallet. When I went to try and set it up again, the trading pair was nowhere to be seen. Has this happened to anyone else? submitted by /u/raphaiki [link] [comments]

do you think Ethereum Classic will ever have a comeback? why or why not?

and how do you think this would be achieved submitted by /u/Lost_Foot_6301 [link] [comments]

Building a Pumpfun-Style Launchpad on Ethereum When Bots Dominate Everything

One thing this thread nails is that bots aren’t a bug, they’re the baseline and that realization completely changed how we approached building a Pumpfun-style token launch portal on Ethereum for a client who originally thought the goal was to beat bots, when in reality the real problem was designing a system that assumes bots exist and still feels fair and usable for humans. Early prototypes…

Shipping on-chain governance (Ethereum) into a B2B SaaS next week — sanity check before release

We’re days away from shipping a new capability into Proja AI called Proja Chain, and before it goes fully live to Enterprise Plus users, I wanted to pressure-test the positioning with people who actually build and run B2B software. What we’re releasing is on-chain governance, anchored to Ethereum, but deliberately not crypto-native UX. At a high level, this introduces: • Blockchain-verified…

HOW WE Built a Crypto ICO on Ethereum

When we built our ICO on Ethereum, the hardest part honestly wasn’t the smart contract or minting an ERC-20 token, it was navigating trust, legality and expectations in a space already crowded with scams and low-effort launches. Back then, anyone could spin up a token in minutes, publish a rushed whitepaper and raise money, which made investors skeptical by default, so we focused less on launching…

Ethereum gas fees

⛽ Technical Discussion: The Death of High Gas Fees. Data confirms ETH gas is <$0.01 alongside ATH network activity. Logical Implication: We have officially moved past the "Congestion Phase." The protocol upgrades (Dencun/Pectra era) have successfully optimized data availability. • High Throughput. • Negligible Cost. The economic barrier to entry for the Ethereum ecosystem is now effectively zero.…
