Eternal Echoes · Eternal Echoes

Go ahead, young one, rip me apart,
Inflate my flaws, dissect my heart.
Play your role, the victim you became,
Blaming me so neatly fits your game.

It’s the fixation, the tale of a "Toxic Mother,"
Rewrite your story, erase the other.
Stay the victim, my dear, a little while more,
But beware, the fire in me is hard to ignore.

Adopt new names, identities, and lies,
But I see who you are, no matter what you identify.
You run from yourself, but shadows will stay,
No matter how far you push me away.

I’ll cry for your pain while I write of my own,
Sitting by the ocean, grieving alone.
You’re lost in a world that profits from grief,
Trapped in despair with no true relief.

I taught you escape, to blame me when pressed,
Never knowing you’d twist it to suit your distress.
Blame me for your choices, your path, your strife,
I’ll be your scapegoat one more time in this life.

I see my mistakes, I’ve made them clear,
But unlike you, I self-reflect, my dear.
I’ve learned to carry the weight of my pain,
To grow through the heartache, to dance in the rain.

You so easily throw accusations that aren’t true,
I’ve known estrangement, this isn’t new.
I’ve faced my mother’s absence, her lack of care,
Yet never did I hurl her name in the air.

Go to your therapists, let them profit from pain,
Keeping you stuck, fueling disdain.
Tell the whole community, let them agree,
Convince you the fault lies solely with me.

You rewrite the past to suit your view,
Yet deep down, I know you’re hurting too.
But I won’t throw them back; I’ll let you be,
Even though your absence cuts into me.

You’ve twisted my love into something vile,
And yet, I can’t help but miss your smile.
One day, I hope, you’ll tire of this game,
And face the truth you buried in blame.

Kidnapped by a cult, lost in despair,
My heart still breaks, you’re always there.
Your mother remains, though shattered and torn,
A heart that still loves, even when worn.

Yet my soul now bears the deepest scars,
From paths you tread beneath borrowed stars.
